Happy Valentine's Day from the First Coast Weddings team!
Happy Valentine's Day from the First Coast Weddings team!
Today was a great mail day in our office! Not one but two lovely thank-you notes, one of which was personally dropped off by the parents of the bride.
"Dear Emma - Thank you so much for helping make Teddi and Chris' wedding so picture-perfect last weekend. I don't know what we'd have done without your expertise, encouragement, and organization. I'm not sure there is any way to make a wedding totally stress-free... but you tried. Thank you!"
- Nancy & Dave, parents of the bride
"Emma, It was a real treat to work with you and Chris and Teddi's wedding. You did an EXCELLENT job! Everything was beautiful and ran very smooth. We look forward to working with you in the future!"
- Brandy and Beau, Brandy Burridge Photography
Brandy and Beau took this adorable engagement photo of the bride and groom, Teddi and Chris, a few month ago. We can't wait to share the images from their wedding!
I just love getting notes from my happy couples (and their families!) after weddings.
Heather, just wanted to offer a big thank you for all your help with Lauren and Jeff’s wedding. You truly helped us create a wonderful atmosphere and allowed us to enjoy it! We have had nothing short of unbelievable feedback!
- Les, Father of the Bride
I just wanted to send a quick thank you to everyone for helping make my wedding day so special. It was the best weekend and it wouldn't have been the same without everyone's help along the way! I just got back to the office today and have emails, letters and voicemails from friends and family raving about the wedding from start to finish (flowers, hair, makeup, music, food, etc....literally everything!). Everyone said it was the best wedding and that they had a blast.
I have lots of friends getting engaged so when they ask, I will be sure to send recommendations!

We just got a comment card back from our wonderful April 18th wedding couple! Here are Kristen's remarks: Would you recommend our services to others?
Please tell us about your experience with First Coast Weddings and Events:
Great experience - from start to finish! Heather & staff are professional and available - all appointments happened as planned. Most importantly - Heather executed on everything we planned and more. Our wedding looked even better than I imagined! On our big day we had no worries - any issue that came up was handled immediately. We are so pleased and blessed to have found Heather/First Coast Weddings and Events.
Is there anything particular we can do to improve our services in the future?
Not at all - I felt that everything /every interaction was professional and executed flawlessly!
PS - Thanks to Melanie too for all of your help!
One of the best parts of my job is getting thank you notes from our lovely couples after the wedding. This morning, I found this note from Michelle and Jamaal in my stack of mail:
Thank you for making our day stress-free and perfect. Your interpretation and execution of ideas is flawless. You did a great job and made our day that much special. Couldn't have done it without you. God bless, thanks again.
Michelle & Jamaal
Heather, the wedding was more than I could have ever dreamed possible! Everything was perfect and better than I expected! Thank you so much for all of your helpful recommendations and tips and for making sure everything was perfect on our big day!

I just wanted to thank you so much for all your hard work!!! (and your assistant of course!!) Everything was perfect and I could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding!! It really was great having you there and thank you so much for doing such a fantastic job! I really felt like you had everything under control and I didn't even think about any of the details, which was great...and neither did our Moms which is always a good thing!! ;)
Thank you again, and we could not have done it without you! I don't know if you like to have any pictures of the wedding, etc., but I will forward the photo link to you if you like (I think the pics should be up in a few days!).
Thanks and I hope you have a happy and healthy New Year!
One of our fall 2007 couples, Ashley and John, welcomed their first baby boy to their family just after their anniversary in October. It is always so exciting to keep up with our clients after their weddings are over, and I couldn't be more happy for this adorable threesome. Jack, you couldn't have chosen nicer parents!
The First Coast Weddings and Events team wishes you and your family all the best this holiday season.
Our offices will be closed for the long weekend, except for pre-arranged appointments. Happy Turkey Day!
As I was reading the local news on FirstCoastNews.com on my Blackberry this morning, I came across this article that made me happy, and I wanted to share it.
YULEE, FL -- It's sweet 16 for Kelsey Morgan. The party is planned and the theme is in place.
"It's classy in pink, my favorite color is pink," says Morgan.
Decorations are ready.
"You have to have the right pink, you can't have the light pink, it's got to be the dark pink," says Kelsey's grandmother, Claudia Morgan.
The cause is an important one.
"Well, I really didn't want a big party so I figured if I was going to do one I'd rather do something with it," says Kelsey Morgan.
She is. She's asking all of her 150 plus guests to donate to the First Coast Cancer Foundation instead of giving presents. This party may be in Kelsey's name, but it's dedicated to those in her family fighting cancer. Her grandmother was diagnosed in February.
"She watched that MTV on those spoiled 16 year olds having those big parties and she said I don't want anything like that, I want my party to be for somebody else, not for me," says Claudia Morgan.
Cancer also took the life of Kelsey's great-grandmother.
"We know she can't cure cancer but we hope one day it can be cured, and what money we raised we feel like every little donation will help," says Claudia Morgan.
It's help that this 16 year old wants to give, hoping that whatever she collects will go a long way.
"People our age are told they can't make a difference, and we can so, that's what I want to tell them," says Morgan.
Kelsey Morgan is in the 10th grade at Yulee High School. She hopes to be a neonatal nurse when she is older.
Donations can be made to the First Coast Cancer Foundation through First Coast Oncology.

Today marks the 6th anniversary for First Coast Weddings and Events! I can't believe how quickly time has passed. It seems like I was just filling out a mountain of paperwork in my home office to form the corporation.
Six years later, our team has grown, our voice in the wedding industry has grown, and our friendships have grown. I feel truly honored to have such a great team in place, both with my staff and our vendors.
Our location has also changed over the years, from my home office to Sawgrass Village in Ponte Vedra Beach to our current home at The Wedding Party.
We have worked at venues from Palm Coast to Tallahassee and everywhere in between. We've seen several couples go on to have babies, and we're always thrilled when we get birth announcements and family photos. One of our past clients even became a valued part of our team!
Thank you all for being a part of our success! Cheers!
Congrats to our former clients, Kirsten and David, for being featured as The Nest's Real Couple Of The Week! This super cute couple was married last May in St. Augustine, with a reception in Ponte Vedra Beach. Here is a link to their article: http://ideas.thenest.com/LoveandSex/Articles/real-couple-kirsten-and-david/
For those of you unfamiliar with The Nest, it's the married-couple version of The Knot! Be sure to check it out once you say your "I do's!"
Local TV station WJXT (Channel 4) does a contest each Valentine's called "Reveal Your Romance." This year, they will be giving away a complete wedding that will be live on the Morning Show! The contest was announced this morning on The Morning Show. Engaged couples will be asked to write the story of their engagement, and send it in to the station or drop it off at Jacksonville's new Alfred Angelo store. The producers will read through the submissions and narrow down the field to 10, then to 5. They will be looking for great, romantic stories.
The winner gets a wedding in mid-May for up to 75 guests. It will be a weekday morning wedding and it will be shown live on Channel 4's Morning Show. Everything will be provided, from catering to flowers to entertainment. The "dream team" of vendors includes:
Watch our blog for updates as we begin working with the winning couple to produce their spectacular wedding! Be sure to visit News4Jax.com for complete contest information.
I intended to send this weeks ago... I have tried endlessly to find the right words to thank you enough for making sure our wedding day was fabulous. From beginning to end, it was everything I dreamed and more. While it was all over in a blink, everytime I look at the pictures an enormous smile comes across my face... Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your hard work and dedication to our wedding day.
(My mother thanks you as well - you guys kept her sane)

Melanie and Eric had a beautiful wedding day in St. Augustine! The day started with the bridesmaids relaxing in the bride's suite at The Cozy Inn while they were pampered by extraordinary hair stylist Casey Powell and fabulous make up artist Kimtasha Armstrong. Photographers Kris and Kate from Kris Graham Photography arrived at the Inn to take final getting ready shots, and then beautiful photos of the bride with her bridesmaids and family. Meanwhile, the guests were boarding the Old Town Trolley for a fun ride to the Oldest House for the wedding ceremony. The bride's bouquet by Anything With Plants and Flowers was absolutely stunning, and officiant Cheryl Raby performed a touching and lovely ceremony.
The guests re-boarded the trolley for a quick trip through downtown before arriving at The White Room. The reception was beautiful with the bride's candle and rose petal centerpieces and sheer silver table cloths. The gorgeous cake from Publix (San Jose Blvd.) tasted as great as it looked, and the groom's brownie cake was a big hit! DJ Carlton McGee kept the party going while videographer Wes Taff of Scenecrafters captured everything on film, including a very funny toast from the best man.
Instead of the bouquet and garter toss, Melanie and Eric opted for the Anniversary Dance - the couple married the longest had been married for over 50 years! The couple offered advise to the newlyweds as the bride presented them with a small version of her bouquet.
At the end of the night, everyone (including the bride and groom!) climbed aboard the trolley one more time to enjoy the Nights of Lights on their trip back to their hotels.
The bride sent this terffiic email to all of their vendors:
Eric and I had an amazing wedding day on Saturday! And you all played a huge part in making it such a special day for us. We wanted to thank each of you for your hard work, guidance, patience, and professionalism. Everyone seems to really love what they do and it really shows!
We will highly recommend each of you to anyone who asks; and even those who don’t. :) Feel free to give our contact information to anyone asking for references.
Thank you again for making our wedding day unforgettable!
This weekend, I traveled to Crawfordville (just outside Tallahassee) to share Heather and Nick's wedding day with them. Heather and I were maid- and matron-of-honor respectively at my cousin's wedding last June, and she said I just had to be there to help her on her wedding day.
Heather has always been an earth goddess, and was environmently-friendly long before it was trendy. What better place for her wedding than a green* hotel? The Inn at Wildwood, an "eco-friendly, nature based lodge" according to their website, is a beautiful setting for a wedding. Heather told me she picked this location long before Nick even popped the question!
As the guests gathered for the ceremony, Nick's cousin provided background music with his saxophone. The big surprise, though, was that the bride's arrival was announced by bagpiper Mike Bailey. Heather planned this special suprise in honor of her grandmother.
After Heather and Nick's sweet wedding ceremony under the arbor, the guests moved next door to The Bistro for a wonderful Southern reception. The menu included individual fruit and cheese platters for each table, yummy gumbo, and a chicken and beef duet entree. The wedding cake by Myra Jean was to die for! The bride designed the table centerpieces with fall gourds and candles, and each table had a unique look. Personal flowers by The Flower Peddlers added the perfect fall touch to the decor.
Thank you so much for the endless advice & endless answers! Our wedding day would not have been as beautiful (and stressless) without you. We are so grateful for everything you have done!
Nick and Heather
(That's the groom with his adoring bride and her bridesmaids!)
