We currently have unpaid
internships available in our Jacksonville, Florida office during the
following periods:
July 14, 2008 through August 22, 2008 (6 week mini-internship)
August 25, 2008 through November 26, 2008
December 1, 2008 through February 27, 2009
Priority is given to students studying a hospitality-related field from
an accredited college or university. Apprenticeships are also
available for Association of Bridal Consultants novice members. Please
contact us for more information on apprenticeships.
Intern Office Duties:
- Email information to prospective clients
- Follow up on inquiries and book appointments
- Keep vendor files up-to-date
- Check vendor availability for upcoming events
- Create blog entries
- Write text for email blasts
- Prepare client files and wedding day paperwork
- Work on marketing campaigns
- Answer phones in a professional manner
- Respond to emails in a timely manner
- Work with the First Coast Weddings team to create
new procedures, promotions, etc.
- Use proper grammar and spelling at all times
- Other duties as needed
Intern Wedding-Day
Duties:
(These roles will vary from event to event)
- Oversee setup of ceremony and reception sites
- Work with vendors to ensure a seamless event
- Handle last-minute changes
- Assist the client with any needs that may arise
- Other duties as needed
Internship Requirements:
- Availability to work 15-20
hours per week (4-8 hour shifts) at our office during the following
hours:
Tuesday through
Thursday 10:00 am to
6:00 pm
Friday and Saturday
10:00
am to 3:00 pm
(hours are subject to
change and will be determined at the start of your internship)
- Dress in business casual
attire while at the office, black suit on wedding days.

in this business!
- Represent First Coast
Weddings and Events in a professional and courteous manner at all times
- Be pro-active and look for
tasks to assist with when your assignments are complete
- Willingness to sign a
confidentiality agreement stating that all paperwork, files, vendor
information
or client data is owned by First Coast Weddings and Events.
- Act as a team player
- Failure to report for a
scheduled shift without notice (no-show) will result in termination of
the
internship. If you cannot work your
scheduled shift, you must notify the office at least hour prior to your
scheduled start time.
