Brides Against Breast Cancer

Don’t know what to do with your dress now that you are happily married?  Consider donating it to Brides Against Breast Cancer!

Brides Against Breast Cancer is part of the Making Memories Foundation, which grants wishes to terminal breast cancer patients.  The Nationwide Tour of Gowns travels the country throughout the year, and has two stops scheduled for Florida in 2008.

Thousands of gowns are available for purchase, ranging from $89 to $799 in price and in sizes 4 to 24.  While some gowns are donated by brides, over half of the gowns are new and come from manufacturers and bridal shops.

Additional wedding related items may also be donated, including bridesmaid, mother of the bride and flower girl dresses, along with other wedding specific items such as veils, shoes, purses, slips, and bras.

How To Donate

If you would like to donate your dress locally (Northeast Florida), please contact us to schedule a drop-off time:

Please print and complete a donation form before donating your dress.

You may also ship your gown directly to Making Memories – more information is available on their website.  Your gift, including shipping cost if applicable, is tax-deductible; please consult your tax advisor for details.

Trashing The Dress?

Many photographers offer a “trash the dress” photo session after the wedding.  This allows the bride to have more freedom in her gown than during a standard pre-wedding portrait session, and can produce some amazing photos that truly reflect the bride’s personality.

Even if you participate in this fun new trend, you can still donate your dress!  Most “damage” done to the gown can be cleaned by a reputable dry cleaner, and it can still be sold at a local gown sale.
