Longest Married Couple Offers Advice

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Coming up on Sunday, the world’s longest-married couple will answer relationship questions via Twitter!  You have until Friday, February 12th to submit questions to @LongestMarried, and 14 questions will be chosen and answered on Valentine’s Day.

Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher were married in 1924.  According to Mashable.com, “The couple, who enjoy hanging on their front porch, watching trains pass by, counting cars and talking to their neighbors, are apparently the model of wedded bliss. They each have their own bedroom — so Herbert can stay up late watching baseball. Well, I guess distance does makes the heart grow fonder.”

To read more about Mr. and Mrs. Fisher, check out this article on the AARP website recognizing their Guinness World Record.

Sneak Peek: Michelle and Jamaal’s Engagement Session

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Our friends Melanie and Brad Watson of La Dolce Vita Studio posted a few shots of Michelle and Jamaal’s engagement session in their blog today.  I can’t wait to see more!  Their wedding will be here before we know it!  I met with Michelle and her lovely mom on Friday to finalize the cake details and discuss floral arrangements and linens – it’s going to be amazing!  Lucky groom Jamaal got to head to Tampa for the Super Bowl while we discussed the pretty details.  I’m so happy we will have incredible photographers like Melanie and Brad to capture the wedding day.

(Do they both look like models or what?!)

Hsinyi and Kevin’s Engagement Shoot

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Guess what popped up on my Google Reader today?  An entry from Nikki McEneaney’s blog with some shots from Hsinyi and Kevin’s engagement session!

I am so excited to be working with this great couple as we finalize the plans for their March wedding in St. Augustine.

Chronicals of a Bride

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

I’ve spent five wonderful years within the events industry going to fittings and tastings…. picking out colors and linens…. and making sure that everyone gets down the aisle sans a crisis.  I’ve hand-crafted bouquets and hand-sewn faulty zippers.  I have helped dozens of brides find a voice and determine how to translate it into the wedding of their dreams… And now- it is my turn.  That’s right… I am getting married Spring 2009.

So what is it like to be a coordinator and a bride?  Well, the truth is that it really is not unlike any other girl that gets married.  I am still have a real budget that I must work within.  I still have cultural and traditional elements that I must respect- and others that I must respectfully decline.  I have a guest list that needs a bit of trimming and a wee little issue with control that I must learn to overcome.  Thus, for the next few months, I invite you to join me on my journey to the alter.  I’ll take you along throughout the process in hopes that it will make your own planning a little easier- knowing that we are in this together…

Angelique and Matt’s Engagement Shoot

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Here is a preview of good things to come!  Angelique and Matt are busy planning their November wedding at St. John The Divine Greek Orthodox Church and reception at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, but they took an afternoon off for super incredible photographer Scarlett Lillian to capture these engagement images.

Visit Scarlett’s blog for more! I am so excited about the wedding day!

Priceless

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Yesterday I set up a new online survey to replace the post-wedding comment card system we have been using for the past six years.  I know, it’s about time!  Happily, the first respondent was my favorite glamour girl, Kimberly.

“I had the most wonderful experience working with First Coast Weddings & Events! The professionalism and wealth of knowledge about wedding trends and vendors was priceless. I feel as though I lost a friend after our wedding planning ended!”

Silly Glamour Girl!  Now that the wedding is over, we can enjoy those pink cocktails together!  I’ve heard from Kimberly oh-so-fab photographers at Kris Graham Photography that we should have all of the wedding pics any day now!
