There is something undeniably special about a January wedding in Northeast Florida. The pace slows, the light softens, and when the temperatures dip, it creates an atmosphere that feels a little more intimate and intentional. Madeleine and Scott’s wedding day was the perfect example of how thoughtful planning and a strong vendor team can turn even the coldest day into something truly beautiful.
A Love Rooted in Jacksonville, Celebrated with Family Near and Far
Madeleine and Scott call Jacksonville home, but their wedding brought together loved ones from across the country. It was important to them that their day felt welcoming, seamless, and reflective of both their story and their families. From the very beginning, their vision centered around a classic church ceremony followed by an elegant celebration at one of Northeast Florida’s most iconic venues, TPC Sawgrass.
A Meaningful Ceremony at Our Lady Star of the Sea
Their ceremony took place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, a setting that offered both tradition and reverence. As guests gathered inside the church, there was a quiet sense of anticipation that comes with a ceremony rooted in faith and family.
The beauty of a church wedding lies in its timelessness, and Madeleine and Scott embraced that fully. Every moment, from the processional to the final blessing, felt grounded in meaning.
When Winter Weather Calls for Flexibility
January in Florida can be unpredictable, and on this particular day, the temperatures were unusually cold. While outdoor cocktail hours are often part of a Florida wedding, the decision was made to move cocktail hour indoors to keep guests comfortable.
This is where experience truly matters.
A well-executed shift like this is not about compromise. It is about maintaining the flow of the day while ensuring guests feel cared for. The transition was seamless, and guests enjoyed a warm, inviting atmosphere inside while still experiencing the elevated setting that TPC Sawgrass is known for.
Stepping Onto the Iconic Course
Despite the chill in the air, one thing was non-negotiable for Madeleine and Scott: photos on the legendary golf course.
Thanks to the dedication of the venue staff and the photography crew, and a shared commitment to making the day everything the couple envisioned, they were able to step outside for portraits. Those moments, bundled against the cold, created some of the most memorable images of the day. There is a certain magic to a winter sky over the greens, and it gave their gallery a look that feels both classic and unique.
A Day to Remember
Madeleine and Scott’s wedding serves as a reminder that no matter the season or the weather, a well-planned wedding will always shine. With a meaningful ceremony, a beautiful venue, and a team dedicated to bringing the vision to life, their January celebration was nothing short of unforgettable.
For couples planning a wedding in Jacksonville or Ponte Vedra Beach, this day is proof that winter weddings can be just as stunning, with the added charm of a season that invites everyone to slow down and savor each moment.
We had the pleasure of working with Heather as our wedding planner and I can’t imagine how we would have planned our day without her! She was instrumental in helping us put together an A+ team of vendors and helped us plan every detail of our wedding. She took the time to get to know us as a couple so she could help us find vendors and plan details suited to our style. She especially had a lot of experience planning weddings at our venue so we felt confident throughout the whole process that she would help us plan the perfect day. She was also so responsive via both text and email and would always provide thoughtful answers to our questions both big and small. I also cannot emphasize enough how detail-oriented and organized Heather is. Even on the day of the wedding she thought of so many details so I didn’t have to worry about them. For example, the groom had written me a letter to read before the ceremony. When I got back to the venue after the ceremony I thought I had left it behind since someone else had taken my things back to the venue but Heather had remembered the letter and specifically went to get it for me so it didn’t get left behind. That is just one example of how dedicated Heather is to ensuring that your wedding day runs smoothly so you can focus on enjoying the moment! Heather is truly an expert at what she does and really cared about helping us plan a wedding that was perfect for us. We really enjoyed our time working with her and will be forever grateful to her for helping us make our dream wedding day a reality!
