Black and White Elegance at Epping Forest Yacht and Country Club

Courtney and Nick selected one of Jacksonville’s most historic and distinguished venues for their wedding ceremony and reception. Epping Forest Yacht and Country Club, originally built in the mid-1920s as the grand estate of Alfred I. duPont and Jessie Ball duPont, remains an enduring symbol of elegance along the St. Johns River. In the 1980s, the mansion was restored with great care and added to the National Register of Historic Places, and today it stands as a private club that blends its storied past with refined modern amenities.

The couple embraced the inherent beauty of the estate by choosing a classic black and white palette, a choice that enhanced the sophistication of their celebration. Although a passing rain shower required a small adjustment to the ceremony plans, the clear tent created a stunning backdrop for their vows, allowing the surrounding grounds to remain part of the experience.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for an elegant dinner inside the historic mansion. As evening settled in, the dance floor stayed full while a lively band kept the celebration going well into the night. Courtney and Nick’s wedding captured the timeless charm of Epping Forest and showcased the enduring grace of one of Jacksonville’s most treasured venues.
